Privacy Policy
Almanac is a wellness tool: you record how you feel, and it shows you the pattern over time. This page explains what we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and how you can take it back.
What we collect
- Information you give us — your quiz answers, your daily check-ins and any notes you add, your email address, and your account preferences. If you choose text reminders, your mobile number and a record of your consent.
- Membership information — the status of your subscription and billing history. Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider; we do not store your card number.
- Usage information — how you use the app and website, such as which screens you visit, collected through standard analytics technologies.
How we use it
- To provide the service: your check-ins, streak, and weekly pattern reports.
- To send emails you have asked for, such as sign-in links, reminders, and report notices. You can turn these off from your account page.
- To run your membership and billing.
- To understand how the product is used, improve it, and keep it working.
- To measure our advertising and reach people who may be interested in almanac.
The weekly report
Your weekly report is narrated with help from an AI model. The model receives structured weekly summaries prepared by our own systems, not your private notes or your individual daily entries.
How we share it
We share information with service providers that perform services on our behalf, such as hosting, payment processing, email delivery, analytics, and the AI provider that narrates reports. They may use it only to provide those services.
We may also share information with your consent, to comply with legal obligations, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of almanac, our members, or others.
Text messages
Text reminders are optional. If you opt in, we use your mobile number only to send the messages you asked for: a short daily check-in reminder (about one message a day) and one text asking you to reply YES to confirm the number. Message and data rates may apply. A text never includes your check-in answers, scores, or reports. We do not share mobile numbers or text-message consent with third parties for their own marketing. Your number is shared only with the messaging provider that delivers the texts, which may use it only for that purpose. Reply STOP to any text to cancel, or remove your number on your account page; deleting your account removes it too.
How we protect it
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular backups. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- Export — download everything we hold about you from your account page.
- Delete — delete your account from your account page. This permanently removes your account, your check-ins, notes, reports, and quiz answers, and cancels any subscription. A few records necessarily remain outside the app for a limited time: our payment provider keeps the billing record it is required to keep; email-delivery logs, error reports, and analytics may hold your email address or a scrambled form of it until they age out; and daily backups expire within a week. None of these can be used to sign in or to reconstruct your check-ins.
- Email — reminder and report emails include a one-tap unsubscribe.
- Texts — reply STOP to any text, or remove your number on your account page.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws. Contact us to exercise them.
Retention
We keep your information while you have an account and for as long as needed for the purposes above, then delete or anonymise it.
Children
Almanac is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
We may update this policy. If the changes are significant, we will notify members before they take effect. The date at the top is the version you are reading.
